ADHD glasses vs tinted lenses

These get confused with each other. Shields block where light comes from. Tints change the quality of light that arrives. They solve different problems.

Side shields: for peripheral distraction

If movement at the edge of your vision pulls your attention (people passing, a notification lighting up, traffic through the window), shields are the tool. They narrow your field of view. The light in front of you is unchanged.

Tints: for light sensitivity and visual stress

If fluorescent lighting, bright screens or glare leave you drained or give you headaches, that is a light quality problem. Tinted lenses reduce and rebalance what reaches your eye. Many neurodivergent people find them helpful. Sensitivity varies a lot between people, so the right tint is a matter of trying a few.
